"Mrs. Jessica Plurad returns to MHS in the ELA department this year! Mrs. Plurad spent 11 years at Mehlville before taking a break to raise her young children. She looks forward to teaching English this coming school year, as she has missed collaborating with staff and students very much. Mrs. Plurad was on the leadership team for the district's Instructional Innovation Academy, was named 2017 MHS Teacher of the Year, and participated in a scholarship course at Shakespeare's Globe in London. She is overjoyed to bring new learning experiences to life in her classroom again!"

"Hi, I'm Ted Toney, and I'm excited to be joining Mehlville High School as a Business Education teacher! I recently graduated from Missouri State University and can't wait to get started. Outside of school, I enjoy watching all sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Blues, and Kansas City Chiefs. I love spending quality time with family and friends, especially when I can do both at the same time. I'm also a big fan of the outdoors and enjoy fishing, hunting, and visiting our country's beautiful national parks. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and having a great school year!"

If you haven’t purchased school supplies yet, this weekend is the perfect time to do so! The Missouri Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday is from Friday, August 7, to Sunday, August 9. ✏️📚🎒

This weekend, the state sales tax will be waived on items like clothing, school supplies, computers and calculators. This includes purchases made both in store and online!

Supply lists for the 2026-2027 school year are posted on your child’s school website under “School Information.” You can print or bookmark a supply list, shop online or at the store of your choice.

"My name is Steve Kress and this will be my 23rd year in the district. I will be teaching students in the Missouri Option Program at Mehlville High School.
I’ve spent my entire career at SCOPE. The closing of SCOPE was tough for all, but I’m hopeful moving to the high school will be good for the students. It is bittersweet as I will miss the coworkers that I worked with, but a new opportunity is exciting and I am looking forward to it.
I love spending time with my wife Shannon and son Scott who lives in Los Angeles. I also enjoy playing golf ( I coach the boys and girls golf team at Mehlville) and spending time outdoors.

MHS is excited to welcome Jennifer Brown our new Director of Bands.

Mrs. Brown is a 1994 graduate of Mehlville High School, where she was a drum major and flutist. She attended the University of North Texas and holds degrees from UNT in Music Education and Flute Performance. Later, she earned a Masters in Flute Performance from Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville and a Masters in Gifted Education from Lindenwood University. Mrs. Brown has been the Director of Bands at Washington Middle School since 1999. For the past 27 years, in partnership with Retired MHS Director of Bands, Tony Brown, Jennifer Brown has been committed to creating an exceptional 7 year Band Journey for all students and families in our Mehlville Band Community. Their daughter, Eva, graduated from Mehlville in 2026. Jen looks forward to leading the Mehlville Band program as they continue to grow and evolve in this new chapter, while honoring and remembering our past.

"My name is Emily Cobb, and I am so excited to serve as the Alternative Education Counselor at Mehlville High School! After serving as the District Receptionist for the past two years, I loved supporting our families, community members, and students. I recently completed my Master’s in Educational, School, and Counseling Psychology from Mizzou, and I can't wait to work with students on a deeper, more intentional level to help them reach their potential. Outside of school, I love traveling, spending time outdoors with my dog, and getting creative with arts and crafts. I'm so proud to be part of the Panther family!"
