Meet Your Admin: Phil Jacquot will serve as the Principal of Forder Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year! This is a homecoming for Jacquot, who graduated from Oakville High School.

After attending Ole Miss, Jacquot began his career in Oxford, Miss. as a special education teacher. He also taught special education at Fox High School and served as an assistant principal in the Hillsboro School District.

Outside of school, Jacquot loves spending time with his wife, Grace (who is also an OHS alum) and their 2 kids. They especially enjoy spending time at the lake.

“This year, we’re going to be all about laying the foundation at Forder Elementary. We want our students to get a great start to their school career, feeling safe and welcome here at Forder. We’re going to have a great first year!” 💙

Going through the lunch line for the first time can be a scary task for a kindergarten student. That’s why Hagemann Elementary School invited incoming kindergarteners to breakfast on Wednesday!

After being welcomed by principal Dr. Samantha Gatzemeyer and cafeteria manager Alicia Carney, students learned how to go through the lunch line, sit in the cafeteria and put away their trays. Students also took a ride on the school bus and played with their future classmates on the playground. 💙🍽️

Schools across the district are holding back-to-school events leading up to the first day of school. Look for communication from your child’s principal about events at their school.

We’ve also compiled a back-to-school guide to help you make sure your child is ready for the first day of school on Monday, August 24! It includes information about supplies, buses, meals, and more. Visit msdr9.com/backtoschoolguide to get started!

Project complete: When the Facilities Steering Committee toured schools last year, one of the recommendations made by the group of parents, community members and staff members was to improve co-curricular facilities, including school gymnasiums.

Crews have completed work to replace the gym floor at Washington Middle School. The old floor was cracking in many areas, but now students will have a new floor to use when they return to school this fall! Oakville Middle School also received a new gym floor this summer.

Under construction: When the Facilities Steering Committee toured schools last year, one of the recommendations made by the group of parents, community members and staff members was to improve instructional spaces, including our libraries.

In the spring, the Mehlville School District started work to replace carpet in school libraries. At the time, many of our libraries were a patchwork of different carpet installed throughout the years. When students return this fall, every school library in the district that had outdated carpet will have been updated.

This includes Oakville High School, where crews have also transitioned the old computer lab in the back of the space into a Personalized Learning Lab that will be used by students participating in independent study programs, like MyPath.
