♻️ Great news for our GSA families and neighbors!

We’re excited to highlight this update from our 5th Ward Alderman Matt Devoti: a NEW recycling drop-off location is now available in Southwest Garden at Reber Place & Brannon Avenue.

As we share this community resource, here’s a quick reminder to “Stick With the 6”:

📄 Paper
📦 Flattened cardboard
🥤 Plastic bottles & containers
🍾 Glass bottles & jars
🥫 Metal food & beverage cans
🧃 Food & beverage cartons

Remember: recyclables should be loose, clean and dry — no bags!

Small steps. BIG impact. Let’s continue taking care of the community we call home.

Refuse added an additional recycling drop-off point in Southwest Garden. The location is on Reber Place at its intersection with Brannon Avenue, between Southwest and Arsenal Street.

This point joins 5th Ward locations on Sublette Avenue near Engine House #35 and off Wherry near Buder Elementary.

The City’s trash and recycling program continues to evolve. Let Refuse know your opinions about the state of the City’s waste program by participating in a brief survey. The survey is available at:
tinyurl.com/stl-recycling-survey. The survey is open through August 31.

Remember to remove your recyclables from bags before placing them in the dumpsters.

Support your community! Check out the 35th annual run for the Hills and volunteer opportunities at St. Louis Hills Neighborhood Association.

The 35th Annual Run for the Hills is on Saturday September 19, 2026 to Saturday September 26, 2026. It includes the following events: 5k Run/Walk, 1 Mile Walk, 1 Mile Kids Run, and Neighborhood Supporter (Virtual Runner).

This is a wonderful opportunity to hear directly from the Director of the Department of Public Utilities and ask questions about your water bill and water meter placement and learn about the 5th ward improvements!

If you live in the Southwest Garden Neighborhood Association North Hampton Neighbors Association NHNA Southampton Neighborhood Association Hill Neighborhood Association do not miss this opportunity.

EVENT ALERT: Your next 5th Ward town hall is Tuesday, July 14. We will meet at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in the Hill Neighborhood.

Director Niraj Patel will join us. Mr. Patel is Public Utilities Director and Water Commissioner. He will talk about upcoming changes to our water bills and pending legislation requiring the installation of water meters on certain future development.

I'll also talk with you about other developments at City Hall and your questions about our neighborhoods.
