Thank you to the incredible youth bands who took the stage at Rock the Mountain today and to the organizers and volunteers who made it possible!

We were thrilled to be invited to join the event and loved getting to listen to music on such a beautiful afternoon.

Rock the Mountain is almost here! Stop by Tussey Mountain this evening between 4 and 8 pm to hear music from six stellar youth bands. The event is free and family-friendly, and all donations raised throughout will be split between Jana Marie Foundation and Park Forest Middle School's Rock Band Program.

We are incredibly grateful to the event's volunteer organizers (especially BigRed ZoeMakenna) and the musicians who are donating their time to support our work!

Here's the evening's lineup:
πŸ“Ž Rubberband
✨ Undersized Egos
πŸ”· Blue Star
πŸš€ Rocket Chair Request
🎢 The Rolling Tables
🎸 Forsaken

Hope to see you at the Tussey Mountain Beer Garden Stage today (May 30th) from 4-8 pm!

Dropping in to add some feel-good Friday content to your feed!

Our REACH Club members recently spent time at Centre County PAWS, sharing stories and snuggles with some very attentive feline listeners. πŸ±πŸ“š

Reading to animals is a wonderful way for students to build confidence, practice compassion, and connect through kindness, and the cats seemed to enjoy the extra attention, too! We love creating opportunities for young people to support their own well-being while giving back to our community.

Thank you to Krissy, Danny, and the rest of the PAWS team for welcoming our students for this meaningful experience!

It's officially spring festival season, and Mental Health Awareness Month is in full swing! Our team has been carting crafts, mental health resources, and stickers all over Central PA. Over the past week or so, we've had the opportunity to participate in Penn State's Employee Resource Group Summit, Penns Valley High School's Spring Carnival, and SCI Huntingdon's Employee Resource Fair.

On top of that, we're also teaching our new Mind Matters curriculum in all SCASD 5th-grade classrooms, facilitating Mental Health First Aid workshops for Centre County Government employees, hosting free, public QPR Su***de Prevention workshops, running end-of-school-year wellness activities with students in several different elementary, middle, and high schools, leading wellness workshops with PSU LifeLink students, and holding four different weekly small groups. Phew!

All of this work is made possible because of generous sponsors and community members, like you! If you have supported us by donating, sharing/interacting with our posts, volunteering your time, or attending our programs, ✨thank you✨!

If you spot our purple, green, and white van when you're out and about (it's hard to miss), we would love to thank you in person and share about all of the fun programs coming up this summer. πŸ’œπŸ’š

Thank you to our friends at the State College Downtown Rotary Club for awarding Jana Marie Foundation an incredibly generous grant to continue our Mind Matters Jr. program in schools this coming fall! Their gift allows us to print hundreds of youth workbooks and purchase supplies for self-care bags that students receive upon completing the training.

Thank you to our Rotary Club friends for your continued service and dedication to strengthening our community. Your commitment to helping others makes a meaningful difference in the lives of so many. It was incredible to hear from the other grant recipients and learn more about where Rotary funding is being used to create positive change in Centre County.

Take a peek at Mind Matters Jr., our newest course for elementary students! We're currently teaching this content in all SCASD 5th-grade classrooms. We also partnered with Tyrone Elementary School to offer this content to their 4th graders earlier this year.

We are so grateful to the numerous community collaborators who helped us make this course a reality! Eventually, this student workbook, the slide deck, and the teacher's guide will all be available to download for free on our website. Stay tuned!

Our team is so proud to have been a part of this amazing project! Great job, Spring Creek Elementary students. Your commitment to leaving a legacy by giving back is inspiring!

What a sweet way to leave a legacy! Our school, led by our 5th graders and counseling team, teamed up with the Jana Marie Foundation to put CharacterStrong themes of creativity and cooperation into action, and the result was amazing: 24 birthday cake kit boxes donated to the local food bank, totaling 71 lbs of food!
We are so proud of our students for showing kindness, teamwork, and a true spirit of giving back to the community.
