BROWN’S BEACH UPDATE 9/2/26...… because apparently Mother Nature is in charge now.

We know, we know… the beach is closed AGAIN.

This time it’s not staffing. It’s not flooding. It’s not some mysterious lake drama.

🌧️ IT’S THE WEATHER.

At this point, Brown’s Beach has had more plot twists this summer than a reality TV show. 😂

Unfortunately, due to today’s weather conditions, Brown’s Beach will be CLOSED today.

Stay dry, Stillwater!

BROWNS BEACH CLOSED 9/1/26

First it was staffing… now Mother Nature has decided she’d like a turn.

We promise — we really DO want the beach open! We’re not sitting over here thinking up creative new reasons to keep everyone out of the water.

Unfortunately, today’s closure is weather-related and, despite our best efforts, we have yet to figure out how to control the weather.

We know everyone wants to squeeze every last bit of summer out of Brown’s Beach — so do we! As soon as the weather cooperates and conditions are safe, we’ll be ready to welcome you back.

Until then… complaints regarding today’s weather may be directed to Mother Nature. We’ve already left her a message.

Due to staffing shortages at the end of the season, Brown’s Beach will be closed today, August 25, 2026. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

The Town’s phone system has recently been upgraded, and our phone prompts and menu options have changed.

When calling a Town department, please listen carefully to the full menu before making a selection.

Do not simply begin dialing an extension you may have used in the past. With the new system, the first number you press may now correspond to a department menu option rather than the extension you are trying to reach.

For example, if you begin dialing an extension that starts with “2”, the system may immediately route your call to the Police Department, because “Press 2” is now the menu option for that department. The system recognizes the first number pressed and may not wait for the full extension.

To make sure your call reaches the correct department, please listen to the prompts and follow the new menu options.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as everyone becomes familiar with the upgraded phone system. Thank you!
