Stillwater was incorporated as a village in 1816, and is located in southern, Saratoga County, NY, along the Hudson River. The Village is located on Routes 4 and 32 within the Town of Stillwater, 25 miles north of our state capital Albany, New York.

NEWLAND-WOOD FIRE CO. CAPTURES AWARDS AT REGIONAL CONVENTION AND PARADE

Congratulations to the Newland-Wood Fire Co. of the Stillwater Fire Department, which captured two awards Saturday at the 137th annual Hudson Valley Volunteer Firemen’s Association annual convention and parade.

The multi-day regional event was hosted by the Lake George Volunteer Fire Department and drew firefighters, families, and community members from all across the Hudson Valley, from the outer suburbs of New York City to the lower Adirondacks.

Stillwater’s Newland-Wood volunteer unit, which dates back to 1865, took home prizes in the dress parade for Best Appearing Fire Unit – Dress Uniform 6-15 in the Line of March and Second Place – Best Appearing Firematic Float for its historic antique button steamer.

The weekend event and competitions also featured a Mardi Gras-style parade Friday night with the theme “Happy Birthday America! 250 Years of Independence!” along with live music, a lake cruise, a memorial service, training and educational seminars and fireworks.

REVOLUTION PARK RIBBON CUTTING

Area leaders from business and government joined Stillwater Village officials Saturday for the ceremonial ribbon cutting of Revolution Park.

Revolution Park is a newly developed pocket park in the Village of Stillwater, located near Schuyler Creek. The site features green space, a covered pavilion, a bike repair station, and informational signage that celebrates the area’s rich Revolutionary War history. The newly completed recreation space complements the area's strong ties to the American Revolution.

Joining in the ceremony were: Sally Herrick- Mechanicville/Stillwater IDA president, Sher Tedesco -Stillwater Village Clerk, Dorothy DeMarco – Stillwater Deputy Mayor, Jimel Williams- Stillwater Town Councilman, Jeff Stewart-Stillwater Village Trustee, Judy Wood-Zeno-Stillwater Village Mayor, Patrick Nelson-Stillwater Village Trustee, Michelle Duell-Chamber of Commerce President, Allen Caruso-NYS Assembly candidate, and Mike Butler, City of Mechanicville Mayor.
