We’re at the Stonewood Fire Department today for the 2026 Assessment & Tax Satellite Locations from 12:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Our next stop will be at the Spelter Fire Department on Thursday, August 20, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

If you need assistance with property assessments, the WV State Farm Census, or exemption applications, please stop by and see us!

‼️NEW MAILING ALERT‼️

We are switching from billing cards to printed statements mailed in envelopes. Please be aware there may be some slight changes as we continue to improve this process. If you receive a mailing from the City of Stonewood in the next couple of days, it will be your new water bill. If you know residents who are not on Facebook, please help us spread the word. If you have any issues receiving your bill, do not hesitate to contact city hall.

⁉️Information regarding street closures for Stonewood Firefighters Festival July 31st- August 2nd, 2026⁉️

Attached will be notices regarding the street closures for the festival and 5k. Please read through everything carefully and reference the attached map showing all closures for the 5K. Runners will start at 8 AM and are usually completely finished by 9 AM. Please be patient as this event provides free entertainment for the community while helping to raise funds for the Stonewood Volunteer Fire Department to help purchase necessary life-saving equipment.

Public works will also be hand delivering notices to those affected throughout the area prior to the event.

If you have any questions, please do not hestitate to reach out to city hall Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Public works is almost done with the scheduled clean up route for today and will do one final sweep of the town on July 10th, 2026 and will be completed with the cleanup at 12:00 pm tomorrow.

AS A REMINDER
The tire dumpster that is being provided at the fire department by the DEP is for TIRES only and there is to be no trash places in/around or in the fire department dumpster. Residents are responsible for unloading their own tires as the paid staff will be responsible for handling calls in and around the area. Please be respectful of the fire department’s property as they have been so gracious in serving our community and allowing the City to work with the WVDEP to provide this necessary service to the residents. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact city hall.

‼️Office Closures‼️
Stonewood city hall will be closed on Thursday July 2nd, 2026 at 12:00 pm as well as all day Friday, July 3rd, 2026 in observance of the Independence Day holiday. Recycling service will run on normal schedule on Friday, July 3rd, 2026.

The WV DEP will provide a dump trailer for tires only on Monday July 6th, 2026 and Tuesday July 7th, 2026 at the Stonewood Volunteer Fire Department located at 8081 Plainwood Avenue.
