SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING ON DATA CENTERS - JUNE 25, 2026 AT 6:30 PM.
You are invited to attend a special Sunbury City Council meeting on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at 6:30 pm at the Big Walnut High School, 713 N. Miller Drive, Sunbury, Ohio to discuss select topics related to data centers. This is the first of what is expected to be three special meetings on data centers.
At this meeting, city council members, residents, staff, and others will hear from two specialists on the impacts of data centers on local water and power. Speakers for this meeting include Brian Coghlan, Chief Operating Officer at Del-Co Water and President of the WateReuse Association – Ohio Section and John Seryak, managing partner of the consulting firm Go Sustainable Energy.
Each speaker will begin with a 20-25 minute presentation on the topic followed by 35-40 minutes of questions from members of council and the audience. Members of the audience will be invited to write their questions on a piece of paper that will be read to the speaker by a member of city staff.
Each speaker has been given a summary of the public comments that have been received at Sunbury City Council and Planning and Zoning Commission meetings since the start of the year. This will help to focus the presentation on topics of interest to the community. This is the same summary of comments that the city has posted on its website data center page.
Other data center topics being planned for future meetings include noise, land use/zoning, economic development, environmental/health impacts, and related issues.
Please join us for this important city council meeting.
