We took a little "Boo-reaucracy" break at the office today! 👻📄
As you can see, our staff has completely transformed into our true form: a bunch of friendly office ghosts. Don't worry, we promise not to scare you away, we're just getting everything set up for our Sensory Friendly Trick-or-Treat event this Friday, October 30th from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at indiGO (2911 Tower Ave, Suite 9)!

Our Vote Is Our Voice!

Today marks the final video in our election mini-series.

Did you know? People with disabilities currently represent 11% to 12% of total ballots cast in the nation. Voting honors those who fought for these rights and ensures disability issues remain a priority for leaders. From early protests like the 1990 Capitol Crawl to present-day advocacy, the disability rights movement has fought tirelessly for equal access to the democratic process.

Millions of voters with disabilities hold the power to shape healthcare, accessible housing, employment, and transportation policies that affect people with disabilities all Wisconsin and the nation!

We All Deserve Independence and Privacy
Part 2 of our Election Series!
Did you know? Voting privately and independently has only been the standard for the past 24 years?! Before the passage of the Help America Vote Act (HAVA) in 2002, many voters with visual or motor disabilities had no choice but to rely on assistance to mark their ballots.
Today, polling sites are required to provide accessible voting machines so everyone can cast a secret ballot independently.

Meet our new Independent Living Specialist Nancianne!
Hello! I’m excited to join IndiGO’s Superior office as an Independent Living Specialist.

I bring about 14 years of experience in the helping field, advocating for people’s employment, healthcare, and long-term care needs throughout Douglas County and the surrounding area.

Most recently, I transported rural patients to and from medical appointments.

When I’m not working, you’ll often find me cheering on my son at his sporting events, hunting with my dog Fancy, or guiding kayak trips in the Apostle Islands

I look forward to beginning this new adventure with indiGO!

Get Out the Disability Vote Election Series Part 1
Did you know? Before major civil rights legislation like the ADA, many polling places were completely inaccessible to people with mobility disabilities making the right to vote nearly impossible to exercise independently. Thanks to the The Voting Accessibility for the Elderly and Handicapped Act of 1984 & The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, every polling place in Wisconsin must be accessible to everyone.
Voting is a hard-won right, and every voice in our community deserves to be heard in order to keep those rights.

Meet Our Executive Director, Emma Duchrow
I am honored to serve as Executive Director of indiGO and excited to continue my journey with an organization that has been such an important part of my professional life.
Having been with indiGO for over six years, I’ve grown alongside the agency and witnessed the impact our services have on individuals and communities throughout our region.
I began my career at indiGO as an Employment and Benefits Specialist, helping individuals navigate employment opportunities and benefits planning. After three years, I transitioned into the Assistant Director role, where I worked closely with staff, consumers, community partners, and the Board to support our mission and strengthen agency operations.
Today, I am grateful for the opportunity to take on the role of Executive Director.
I am passionate about promoting independence, accessibility, and inclusion, and I look forward to building on indiGO's strong foundation. Together with our dedicated staff, Board of Directors, consumers, and community partners, I am excited to continue advancing our mission and expanding opportunities for the people we serve.
