✨️ It’s Friday, and today we’re shining the spotlight on Keyona Williams! This year, Keyona is serving double duty as our At Large Representative 3 and Arrangements Chair, bringing her energy and enthusiasm to the League in more ways than one. ❤️
With a strong background in community service and a passion for bringing women together, Keyona is all about service, connection, and making an impact. Get to know her a little better below!
Q: How long have you been a member and what brought you to the League?
A: "I've been a member of the Junior League for about a year. I joined in 2025 because I really wanted to connect with like-minded women who have a heart for volunteering and serving the community. I've volunteered with Leon County Schools for many years and have been involved with different schools and community efforts. Still, I wanted to expand that service alongside women who are also passionate about supporting our community, women, and children. That sense of service and sisterhood is really what brought me to the Junior League."
Q: One fun fact about you?
A: "Something people may not know about me is that I spent several years in law enforcement and served as a Sergeant with the Department of Veterans Affairs. I absolutely loved law enforcement. It will always be a part of who I am. People are sometimes surprised when they find that out because now they may see the colored hair, the long nails, and a little more freedom in how I express myself!"
Q: How do you think about honoring our traditions while still letting the League evolve?
A: "I think honoring tradition and allowing the League to evolve really go hand in hand. Our traditions tell the story of the women who came before us, the work they accomplished, and the foundation they created for the Junior League. I think we should always respect and preserve the values and traditions that make the League who we are. At the same time, every generation of women brings new ideas, experiences, and perspectives. Our community is constantly changing, and in order for the League to continue making an impact, we have to be willing to grow with it. To me, evolution doesn't mean getting rid of tradition. It means building on it so that the Junior League remains strong, relevant, and meaningful for the women who are here now and the women who will come after us."
We're so glad to have Keyona's energy, experience, and commitment to service as part of JLT's leadership this year. We can't wait to see all she brings to the League in both of her roles!
Follow along each Feature Friday as we continue introducing the women behind the passion, the mission, and the impact of the Junior League of Tallahassee!
