The Florida Academic Library Services Cooperative (FALSC) provides services, support, and resources for the libraries of our state’s public colleges and universities. We work behind the scenes to help ensure that Florida’s students have the tools and information they need to succeed, operating a statewide integrated library system along with a shared catalog and a statewide collection of online jo
urnals, digitized materials, e-books, and other valuable e-resources. Our products and services are available to nearly 1.3 million students, faculty, and staff throughout Florida. Right now, we’re implementing a next-generation integrated library system for the institutions, and coordinating training for library staff statewide on the new system – thus the flash drives pictured in one of our photos. We handed out about 1,500 of those, loaded with helpful information and links, in 2017. The Florida Academic Library Services Cooperative is a division of the Florida Virtual Campus (FLVC), and is administered by the Northwest Regional Data Center at Florida State University. The organizations have offices in Tallahassee, Gainesville, and Pensacola. Our staff members have a variety of backgrounds — in library science, information technology, education, marketing and communications, and other fields.
