The Florida Agency for Health Care Administration serves as the chief health policy and planning entity for the state. We are primarily responsible for the state's $21.2 billion Medicaid program that serves 3 million Floridians, the licensure of the state's 41,000 health care facilities and the sharing of health care data through the Florida Center for Health Information and Policy Analysis.

Florida’s Rural Health Transformation Program is supported by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as part of a financial assistance award totaling $209 million with 100 percent funded by CMS/HHS. Yesterday, Secretary Shevaun L. Harris joined AG James Uthmeier and community leaders in Miami to push for greater PBM accountability and transparency. Under Governor Ron DeSantis’ leadership, AHCA has fought unfair PBM practices in Medicaid through strengthened contracts, prohibiting spread pricing, and increasing reporting and oversight. Thank you, Governor DeSantis and AG Uthmeier, for championing fair treatment for pharmacies and fighting rising prescription drug costs.
