The spaghetti dinner fundraiser to benefit the injured First Responders in the horrific Robbins Mill fire was an awesome success! Thanks so very much to Tracy Goldsmith Leavitt for organizing and leading this tremendous initiative, the local businesses who donated the terrific silent auction items, the local community members who donated their time and delicious food, and to our community members who came with generosity and caring!

Tracy just announced that together, we raised over $7,000. With the generous match from a local Mason’s Lodge of $3,000, that brings the total to just over $10,000.

Many of the First Responders face a long and grueling physical and psychological healing process. Our hearts, prayers and support are with those who were injured and their families. We hope our collective love and generosity helps ease the financial burden they face, and buoys their spirits!

This week is a celebration of thanks and appreciation for EMS First Responders; EMT’s, AEMT’s, and Paramedics.

This annual event recognizes and honors the highly trained lifesavers of our nation’s emergency medical services. The theme this year is “Improving Outcomes Together”, focusing and celebrating the teamwork, communication, and lifesaving partnerships across the healthcare system. The week (May 17-23) highlights how emergency responders collaborate with 911 dispatch, fire, law enforcement, and clinical care to save lives.

St. George EMS has an exceptional team of EMS providers, ready to respond 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We want to loudly and proudly thank them for their service!!

911 Dispatch Communication Professionals are the critical first point of contact the public has in an emergency. Their extensive training, experience, organization, and interpersonal communication skills provides the necessary critical information for Fire, EMS, and Law Enforcement to quickly and efficiently move forward to address whatever the situation is.

They are truly First Responders, and their value to the entire community was never more openly observed than on the tragic Searsmont fire. Too often unacknowleged, we want to thank them for all they do…in this horrible event and in every 911 call they answer, every minute of every day!
