I appeared on Let It Rip, hosted by Angelo Pinto, where I discussed the shooting that occurred during an ICE operation in Marble Hill, in the Bronx, which left 28-year-old Dominican national Óscar Belgal wounded.

During my appearance, I condemned the use of force and called for an independent, thorough, and transparent investigation to establish the facts and ensure accountability.
No federal agency is above the law, nor does any agency have the right to endanger lives or violate people’s rights!

I want to make it clear that ICE is not welcome in our neighborhoods. The safety of Bronx families, human dignity, and respect for constitutional rights are non-negotiable.

Participé en el programa Let It Rip, conducido por Angelo Pinto, donde abordé el tiroteo ocurrido durante un operativo de ICE en Marble Hill, en el Bronx, que dejó herido al ciudadano dominicano Óscar Belgal, de 28 años.

Durante mi intervención, condené el uso de la fuerza у exigí una investigación independiente, exhaustiva y transparente que esclarezca lo sucedido у establezca responsabilidades. ¡Ninguna agencia federal está por encima de la ley ni tiene derecho a poner en riesgo la vida y vulnerar los derechos de las personas.

The safety of Bronx families is one of my top priorities. It was a pleasure to participate in the Public Safety Town Hall, where we listened to residents’ concerns and discussed solutions to build safer neighborhoods.

I thank Council Member Althea Stevens for her leadership and to the leadership of Lucero Elementary School for opening its doors for this important gathering.

Following the troubling incident during an ICE operation in Marble Hill, in the Bronx, where one person sustained a gunshot wound, I call for an independent and transparent investigation to establish the facts and determine accountability.

Immigration laws must be enforced with full respect for human life, dignity, and constitutional rights. No authority is above the law.
