Cooking Up Confidence!
Participants at the Traumatic Brain Injury Resource Center recently put their culinary skills to work during a group therapy session focused on making quesadillas. From gathering ingredients to preparing and cooking lunch, the activity provided an opportunity to practice important skills such as memory, sequencing, problem-solving, and teamwork.
Relearning how to cook can be an important step toward greater independence for brain injury survivors. Cooking helps build confidence, encourages self-sufficiency, and allows participants to apply cognitive and life skills in a meaningful, real-world setting.
After preparing their meal, everyone gathered to enjoy lunch together, celebrating their accomplishments and strengthening social connections. It was a fun and rewarding afternoon filled with learning, laughter, and great food. 🍽️🧀
