🌟 Feel-Good Friday Employee Spotlight: Meet Chanelle Green

This Feel-Good Friday, we're proud to spotlight Chanelle Green, a dedicated AMPO Public Safety Officer, devoted mother, and inspiring example of determination, resilience, and personal growth.

Since joining Lucas Metropolitan Housing in November 2023, Chanelle has become an important part of our team, helping ensure the safety and well-being of our residents, staff, and communities. Her journey is a testament to what can happen when hard work, perseverance, and opportunity come together.

Before joining LMH, Chanelle earned certifications in EKG, Phlebotomy, Patient Care, and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). A High School Honors Graduate, she continued her education at Davis College, graduating with honors in Medical Assisting while earning recognition on both the Dean's List and Principal's List.

We recently sat down with Chanelle to learn more about her inspiring journey.

(1) What has motivated you to keep pushing forward through every stage of your life?

"I love learning new information and developing new skills. I've always known what I wanted for myself and my family, and I've always wanted to become the best version of myself possible. Being able to provide for my son and help others motivates me every day. I truly believe knowledge can change your life, and the right information can open doors you never thought possible."

(2) How did becoming a mother change your perspective on success and your future?

"The birth of my son gave me an extra push to keep going and strive to be the best mother and stepmother I can be. It strengthened my desire to provide for my family and create memories that will last a lifetime. I want my children to know that anything is possible when you combine hard work, dedication, and belief in yourself."

(3) What has your journey at LMH been like, and how has it impacted your growth?

"My journey at LMH has been filled with learning opportunities. I've gained valuable knowledge about systems, ethics, and crisis intervention while developing skills that help me both on and off the job. Being able to apply what I've learned to help individuals in need has been rewarding and has contributed to both my personal and professional growth."

(4) What advice would you give to someone who may be struggling to believe in themselves?

"Believe in yourself and know that you are capable, no matter what anyone else says. Surround yourself with positive people and positive influences. If something isn't helping you grow, don't be afraid to make a change. Remember, you're not having a bad dayβ€”you're having a bad moment. Stay focused, keep pushing forward, and trust that your hard work and perseverance will pay off."

(5) What's next for Chanelle?

"While I'm proud of what I've accomplished so far, I'm excited about what's ahead. My next goal is to return to school for Social Work, earn my master's degree, and eventually become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). My dream is to open my own private practice and help others. The sky is the limit, and my goal is always to be better than I was the year before."

Chanelle's story reminds us that growth is a journey, not a destination. Through education, perseverance, faith in herself, and a commitment to serving others, she continues to create opportunities for her family and make a positive impact within our community.

Thank you, Chanelle, for your dedication to LMH and for helping keep our residents and communities safe. We are proud to have you on our team.

πŸ’™ Congratulations, Chanelle, and thank you for all that you do!

πŸŽ‰ A Milestone Worth Celebrating: 1.3 Million People Reached

At Lucas Metropolitan Housing, we believe communication is more than sharing information, it is about building connections, inspiring engagement, and telling the stories that matter.

Today, we are proud to celebrate an incredible milestone.

πŸ“± From June 1, 2025, through June 1, 2026, LMH content reached more than 1.3 million people across our social media platforms.

It represents residents, community partners, stakeholders, employees, elected officials, advocates, and community members who engaged with the stories of housing, opportunity, transformation, and impact happening throughout our community.

Over the past year, we have shared:
🏑 New housing developments and revitalization projects
🀝 Community partnerships and resident success stories
πŸŽ‰ Employee achievements and organizational milestones
πŸ’Ό Workforce development and community resource opportunities
❀️ The people and programs making a difference every day

This achievement reflects the power of authentic storytelling and the dedication of our staff, residents, partners, and supporters who help bring these stories to life.

Thank you to everyone who follows, shares, comments, and engages with our content. Your support helps us extend our mission beyond housing and into the heart of the communities we serve.

The momentum continues.

πŸ—οΈ WoW Wednesday | Economic Impact Through Investment

Collingwood Green Living represents more than new housing, it represents continued investment into Toledo’s future.

This $29 million affordable senior housing development brings 75 new units to the Junction neighborhood while contributing to more than $80 million invested into the broader Collingwood Green transformation. Developments like this create jobs, support local businesses, strengthen neighborhoods, and encourage long-term economic growth throughout the city.

Beyond construction, the impact is lasting. Seniors now have access to safe, modern, affordable housing while remaining connected to healthcare, transportation, shopping, and community resources.

One of the most valuable features is stability. Residents benefit from one simple monthly rent that includes electric, gas heat, water, trash, and pest control, eliminating additional utility costs and creating greater financial predictability for seniors living on fixed incomes.

Housing is not just about buildings. Housing is economic development, community investment, and quality of life.

🏑 Motivational Monday | A Vision Brought to Life Through Partnership

Last week’s ribbon cutting at Collingwood Green Living was more than a celebration of a new building, it was the celebration of collaboration, vision, and commitment to our seniors and community.

At Lucas Metropolitan Housing, we believe our seniors deserve more than housing. They deserve dignity, respect, stability, and a place they are proud to call home.

The opening of this 75-unit affordable senior housing community represents what can happen when organizations come together with a shared purpose. Through the partnership and dedication of Lucas Metropolitan Housing, National Church Residences, Lucas Housing Services Corporation, community stakeholders, contractors, city leadership, funding partners, and countless individuals behind the scenes, this vision became reality.

Collingwood Green Living was built to help older adults age in place with comfort, safety, wellness opportunities, and connection, all while remaining rooted in the neighborhood and community they helped shape for generations.

Ribbon cuttings are symbolic. They represent doors opening. New beginnings. New opportunities. And for many seniors, this development represents peace of mind and renewed hope.

To every partner, supporter, advocate, team member, and resident who believed in this vision, thank you for helping make a lasting impact in Toledo’s Junction neighborhood.

This is what happens when purpose meets partnership.

πŸ“° Feel-Good Friday | Palmer Gardens: Part III β€” The Final Touches Are Taking Shape

The transformation at Palmer Gardens is entering another exciting phase as crews continue making visible progress throughout the 75-unit affordable housing community.

What began months ago as a renovation, preparation, and rehabilitation is now evolving into completed living spaces that will soon welcome families home.

Across the property, new roofing is being installed while freshly painted walls bring new life into each apartment. Brand-new water heaters have been added, cabinetry installation is beginning, and updated flooring and baseboards are now delivering the finishing touches throughout the units.

With each passing day, Palmer Gardens looks less like a construction project and more like a renewed community built around comfort, dignity, and opportunity.

For Lucas Metropolitan Housing, this redevelopment represents more than renovation work. It reflects an ongoing commitment to preserving quality affordable housing for families across Toledo while continuing to invest in neighborhoods that strengthen the community as a whole.

In just a few short weeks, the first residents are expected to begin moving into their newly renovated homes, a major milestone in the continued revitalization of Palmer Gardens.

And the story is still unfolding.

πŸ“… Stay tuned for Part IV as the transformation continues.

πŸ’™ WoW Wednesday | Did You Know? πŸ’™

🎨 Did you know that the is considered one of the top art museums in the country and general admission is FREE?

Known worldwide for its incredible glass art collection, the museum reflects something powerful about Toledo:
world-class opportunity should be accessible to everyone.

At Lucas Metropolitan Housing, we believe the same thing.

Because strong communities are built when people have access:
🏠 Access to stable housing
πŸŽ“ Access to opportunity
🎨 Access to culture and creativity
πŸ’™ Access to spaces that inspire hope and growth

The Toledo Museum of Art reminds us that some of the greatest treasures in our city are meant to bring people together, regardless of background or income.

That spirit connects directly to the mission of LMH.

Beyond the Bricks, we’re working to help ensure families and residents across Toledo have the foundation they need to not only live but thrive.

✨ A stronger city is built when opportunity belongs to everyone.

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Memorial Monday | Lucas Metropolitan Housing

Today, we pause to remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend.
It is a moment of reflection. A moment of gratitude. A moment to honor those who gave everything so future generations could live in freedom, hope, and opportunity.

At Lucas Metropolitan Housing, we recognize that the strength of our communities is built on sacrifice, courage, and service. Today, we honor the heroes whose legacy continues to inspire us to serve others with purpose and compassion.

As we gather with family and friends, let us never forget the cost of freedom and the names, stories, and lives behind the flag.

We remember.
We honor.
We thank you.
