Since Libertarians advocate for smaller – much smaller – governments, many local LP groups choose a volunteer program where their members perform a task or service which benefits their community, and which then saves their local government a few dollars. It’s a sort of put-our-actions-where–our-mouths-are activity.
For several years now, the Libertarians of Northeast Kansas have spent time cleaning up Betty Phillips Park several times a year. You may have noticed pictures of the piles of trash we have collected posted on our web site. This particular volunteer project seems to have run its course, and the time has come to choose another activity for our group.
