Recycle your used oil filter and receive a $15 voucher for a new filter at Truckee Rents on Thursday, October 1 from 9 am - 12 pm!

HOW IT WORKS:
1. Change your oil
2. Bring your used oil filter to Truckee Rents on Thursday, October 1 between 9 am - 12 pm
3. Receive a $15 voucher towards a new filter at Mountain Hardware (Limit 2 vouchers per household. Truckee residential address required. First come, first served. Available while supplies last.)
4. Purchase a new filter at Mountain Hardware by 7 PM on October 1

Need a free oil change kit to change your oil before the event? Pick one up at any of these locations:
- Truckee Rents (10410 River Park Place) - Mon-Fri, 7 am - 5 pm & Saturday 8 am - 5 pm
- Truckee Town Hall (10183 Truckee Airport Rd)- Mon-Thurs, 9 am - 5 pm

The Town of Truckee will host another Truckee Town Council Meeting tomorrow, Tuesday September, at 5:00 pm. The meeting will be taking place at Town Hall and is open to the public. The meeting will start with a Hispanic Heritage Awareness Month Proclamation, Small Business Big Applause, Humane Society Truckee Tahoe Presentation and the regular Town Manager Report. Additional agenda items are below:

CONSENT ITEMS:
-Affirming Town Council endorsement in support of Tahoe Truckee Unified School Measure P for the November 2026 election.
-Approve Fiscal Year (FY)2026/27 wage matrix amendment adding a Senior GIS Analyst position and stratify the Code Compliance job classification.
-Authorize a revised resolution for Implementation of Measure K Road Maintenance Sales Tax consolidating the examination of sales tax and use tax as well as transaction and use tax records into a single resolution going forward.
-Approve a revised resolution implementation of Measure K Road Maintenance Sales Tax.
-Authorize a purchase for a replacement and upgrade of the Town’s servers, storage and network switches and authorize budget amendment.
-Approve a contract award for a Community Recovery and Rebuilding Planning Project.
-Authorize easement abandonment at 11255 Beacon Road and 11209 Barnes Drive.
-Approve the appointment of Colin Pope as Youth Arts Representative, Shirley Phelan and arts Advocate and Carole Sesko as Public art expert to the Public Art Commission of Truckee
-Authorize an additional expenditure for snowblower 2026/27 snowblower repairs.
- Authorize Sustainable Communities Transportation Planning Grant Application for Vehicle Miles Traveled Impact Mitigation Program Study and Parking Garage Feasibility Study.

DISCUSSION ITEMS:
- Discuss and review the Short-Term Rental (STR) permit optimization analysis and provide direction to staff regarding STR permit optimization options.
-Discuss the Fiscal Year (FY) 2025/26 through FY 2026/27 Council Priorities workplan update for the quarter ended June 30, 2026; and provide direction on formation of an Economic Vitality Action Plan Advisory Committee; and provide direction on adding a Fee Deferral Working Group to the workplan.

Help Shape Truckee's Active Transportation Plan 🚶🚴

The Town of Truckee is updating its 2015 Trails and Bikeways Master Plan through a new Active Transportation Plan (ATP). The ATP will establish a long-term vision and framework for improving walking, biking, rolling, micromobility, and trails throughout Truckee, helping guide future projects, programs, and funding priorities.

If you are interested in helping shape Truckee's ATP, here's how to get involved:
