Oklahoma is making progress, and we’re proud to be part of the work supporting young people along the way. Our Sexual Health Awareness team continues to provide youth with the education and resources they need to make informed decisions about their health and futures.
For the first time in over a decade, Oklahoma is no longer among the five states with the highest teen birth rates in the United States. 🩵
Young people are the experts on their own lives, and when they have access to the education and resources they need, they can make informed decisions about their sexual health and futures. At Amplify, we’re excited to celebrate this historic progress while recognizing that teen birth rates are only one data point. Sexual health is holistic and shaped by many factors, including access to education, resources, support, and the ability to make informed choices.
A young person’s worth, potential, and future are never defined by when or whether they become a parent. We believe every young person should have what they need to take care of their health, whether that means access to birth control, learning about sexually transmitted infections, or support while expecting or parenting. We’re SO proud to celebrate this progress alongside the young people, parents and trusted adults, educators, and professionals who have made it possible.
