Congrats to our very own Rotarian Brian Weinstein on being named one of Hampton Roads’ Top Forty under Forty! We so enjoyed celebrating you tonight.

Rotary does a lot of good in our community, but that’s only part of what makes it special.

It’s also where friendships are made, connections grow, and people who care about the community get together and have a great time doing it. 😊

Maybe Rotary really was the original social network.

Come see for yourself! Join Cape Henry Rotary as our guest this Wednesday at 7:15 AM at Craft Burger Bar in Virginia Beach. Meet some new people, learn what we’re all about, and see if Rotary might be a good fit for you.

Rotary has its Four-Way Test. Here at Cape Henry Rotary, we added a fifth:

👉 Will it be fun? 💙💛

And judging by these dance moves, we'd say we're passing that test with flying colors. 😂 Happy Friday, Hampton Roads!

💡 𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗥𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗲?

Rotary was born in Chicago in 1905 — but it didn’t stay there long. Just three years later, San Francisco became home to the second Rotary club ever formed. Oakland followed as the third. Then Seattle, Los Angeles, and New York City.

What started around one table spread coast to coast because the idea was simply too good to keep in one place.

Cape Henry Rotary has been carrying that same spirit right here in Virginia Beach since 1984. 💛

October closes strong — and November kicks off even better. Here’s what we have in store:

👻 𝗢𝗰𝘁. 𝟮𝟭 — Local historian Al Chewning brings Virginia Beach Ghost Stories to our Wednesday morning meeting. Perfect timing for spooky season.

📋 𝗢𝗰𝘁. 𝟮𝟴 — We recap our Strategic Planning session and share the direction we’re charting for the year ahead. Big things are coming.

🗳️ 𝗡𝗼𝘃. 𝟰 — The morning after Election Day, Joel Rubin of Rubin Communications Group joins us to break down the results. There’s no better place to be.

🤝 𝗡𝗼𝘃. 𝟱 — Join us for the debut of 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗡𝗘𝗖𝗧, our newly reimagined evening event. Same spirit as the Happy Hour Club — elevated with a sharper focus on professional networking, local engagement, and community impact. Thursday, 5:30–7:30pm.

Wednesday meetings are at 7:15am at Craft Burger Bar on Shore Drive. Guests are always welcome.

📬 𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗥𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱?

From a tiny island in the Pacific to the streets of Monaco, nations have honored Rotary International on their official postage — a quiet but remarkable sign of how far this organization’s reach truly goes.

🇦🇹 Austria was one of the first, issuing a stamp for the 1931 Vienna Convention.
🇺🇸 The U.S. Post Office followed in 1955 with an 8¢ stamp bearing the words “Service Above Self.”
🇩🇪 West Germany marked the 1987 Munich World Convention with a 70 Pfennig stamp.
🇫🇷 France, 🇲🇨 Monaco, 🇾🇹 Mayotte, 🇳🇷 Nauru, and 🇰🇳 Nevis all issued stamps for Rotary’s centennial in 2005.

Nine decades of service — honored on the stamps that connect the world.

We think that’s worth sharing.

🔵 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗻𝗿𝘆 𝗥𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 | 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸’𝘀 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 💙💛

A meaningful Wednesday followed by a fun Thursday — two great reasons to connect with Cape Henry Rotary this week!

💚 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟰𝘁𝗵 | 𝟳:𝟭𝟱𝗮𝗺 | 𝗖𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗕𝗮𝗿
We welcome 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗮𝗵 𝗨𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗲 from NAMI Coastal Virginia — the local affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness serving Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, and the Eastern Shore. NAMI Coastal Virginia offers free support groups, peer education, advocacy, and resources for individuals and families living with mental illness. With one in four adults experiencing a mental health disorder in a given year, the work they do in our region has never been more essential. This is a conversation worth showing up for. Guests always welcome! 💙

🍹 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 | 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟱𝘁𝗵 | 𝟱–𝟳𝗽𝗺
We’re switching it up this month — join us at 𝗥𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗮 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗶 𝗖𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲 for an evening of great food, great drinks, and even better company! Members, friends, and curious newcomers all welcome.

👻 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲...
Next Wednesday brings something perfectly timed for October — 𝗩𝗶𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗮 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗚𝗵𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 with 𝗔𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝘄𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴. Trust us — you don’t want to miss this one. 🕯️
