Voter Registration & Elections (http://www.vbgov.com/voter) maintains the current registration and elections process for Virginia Beach voters and meets mandatory state and federal standards for access to voter registration, such as the regulations of the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) and the Help America Vote Act (HAVA). The National Voter Registration Act necessitated a joint program with the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), as a result voter registration can be completed in any DMV Customer Service Center. Our Office handles mail registration sites at the Virginia Beach U.S. Post Office locations, recreation centers, public libraries, and City Treasurer's offices. The Office also provides convenient ways for citizens to register to vote, update their voter registration record, vote by absentee ballot, and pursue their candidacy for office, and is responsible for maintaining and checking the campaign financial reports of all local candidates. Our Electoral Board is responsible for the conduct of the elections and for the verification of election results. Early voting has begun for the Nov. 3 General Election! Voters can cast ballots from 9 a.m.-5p.m., Monday through Friday at the Virginia Beach Voter Registration & Elections's Office, 500 Studio Drive. This election is for U.S. Senate, the House of Representatives District 2, six City Council and School Board seats and three proposed state constitutional amendments.
