Parents and teachers deserve a board that puts reading, writing, math, and science back at the center. I will.

This week I had the opportunity to speak at the Virginia Beach Republican Women’s Club. I was honored to be introduced by former School Board member Vicky Manning. I spoke about the Chinese being 7 years ahead of us in math, and to compete we need all students to achieve. This includes gifted students across the city including at ODS.

This week the Rotary Peace Park along the Elizabeth River Trail was dedicated. The ribbon cutting ceremony opened the park with raised beds, and a community pantry and a Rotary Peace Pole in addition to benches for people to use and enjoy. The work was done, along with other groups, during my time as President of the Rotary Club of Hampton Roads.

I fully support this new first responder pipeline the school board just approved. This school board is thinking outside the box on how to deal with a shortage of law enforcement officers. Thanks to the leadership of Chair Kathleen Brown - Chair, Virginia Beach School Board - District 10 and Vice-Chair Carolyn Weems Va Beach School Board for helping to make this happen!

This report released by the U.S. Senate about harmful ideology pushed by the nation's teachers' unions is alarming. Sen. Cassidy rebuked the NEA and AFT for "cultivating a culture of antisemitism."

This is one reason why I oppose forced unionization (collective bargaining) which is advocated by the local VBEA (teachers' union).

There's more in the report you can read for yourself.

From September 18, 2026, to Noon on September 19, 2026 our nation pauses to observe National POW/MIA Recognition Day. This is a deeply sacred time—a moment for us to unite in spirit, to remember, and to profoundly honor the unyielding commitment, unimaginable sacrifices, and unbreakable courage of our prisoners of war and those who still remain missing in action. They answered our country's call with ultimate devotion, and we hold a sacred duty to ensure their legacy is never forgotten.
To bring this powerful remembrance close to home, the Knights of Columbus St. Benedict Council 9056 has set up a "Missing Man Table" (also known as the Fallen Soldier Table) in the commons area inside St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church.
Every single element of this beautiful, solemn memorial carries a heartbeat of deep meaning:
A single red rose reminds us of the lives of these brave heroes and the loved ones who keep faith every day.
A slice of lemon on the plate reminds us of their bitter fate.
Grains of salt symbolize the countless tears shed by families waiting for answers.
An inverted glass represents their inability to share a toast with us today.
The empty chair speaks volumes, representing the profound space left behind in our hearts and in our nation.
The memorial will be on display for all to visit.
