WPR Chapter a Day Book Club at the McIntosh Memorial Library!

Wednesday, September 30, 2026, 12 - 1pm, Program Room

Wisconsin Public Radio and McIntosh Memorial Library invite you to join us on Wednesday Sept. 30, 2026 from 12-1 p.m. to talk about "Away to Me" by Patricia B McConnell.

Wisconsinites have tuned in to "Chapter A Day” for nearly 100 years to enjoy beloved stories, spanning fiction, history, and biography. Now, we invite you to join the conversation in person at the “Chapter A Day" book club! No prior WPR or “Chapter A Day" experience required!

Let’s gather at the McIntosh Memorial Library in Viroqua for a conversation about featured book, "Away to Me." It's the perfect opportunity to share your thoughts, connect with fellow readers, and make new friends. Bring your book to the McIntosh Memorial Library on September 30, at 12 p.m. or listen to the broadcast here. We can't wait to see you there!

"Away To Me" by Patricia McConnell will air starting Monday, August 24th through Tuesday, September 22nd. You can hear Away To Me on WPR Music Monday through Friday at 7 p.m. or WPR News at 9:30 p.m.

It's 5 o'clock in the mulch pile! RSVP today!

Come hydrate while we dig into the hands-on experience of fall divisions of perennials, and fall garden chores. Featuring tools from our Garden Tool Library collection. Workshop led by Wisconsin Master Naturalist in training, Denise, and Wisconsin Master Gardener, Caleb DeWitt.

Signature mocktails donated and mixed by Springfire Learning Farm. All participants will be able to take home a perennial division.

Limited space, RSVP NOW! This event is outdoors and will be cancelled in the event of rain or inclement weather.

Searching for something to keep you busy this September? Join us for Books Unbanned: The Giveaway! Our teen ambassadors are seeking 40 individuals to read Ellen Hopkins masterful work "Crank" and, in exchange for the free book, commit to attending a book discussion on the topics in this novel on Monday, Oct. 05 from 5-6pm in the lobby.

The book giveaway runs from September 01-25. Minimum age to participate is 13. Adults are welcome!
