Interested in learning more about basic tapestry and weaving techniques? On Sunday, May 17th, from noon until 4 p.m. Susan Snider will provide weaving instruction to a limited number of participants. Individuals in this workshop will use a simple frame loom and other “unique weaving frames” to create a piece which expresses a thought, memory, idea or inspiration.
Because this session begins at noon, we suggest you bring your lunch. The library will provide drinks. Register in advance either by using the QR code or going to the joslinmemoriallibrary.com website, clicking under upcoming programs and filling in the registration form. Please plan on spending the full four hours with Susan Snider.

Talking with friends and family about contentious topics can be challenging. How do people share ideas confidently without feeling like they're stepping on eggshells?
Braver Angels is a nationwide organization that believes division among family and community members damages our communities and disrupts our families and stops us from working together for the common good. The organization holds local workshops, discusses differences civilly, seeks common ground and encourages everyone to do the same.
Please join community members at the Joslin Memorial Library on April 12th from 1-3 p.m. Beth Malow, an experienced Braver Angels trainer, will provide practical advice and model techniques and strategies to stay engaged in difficult conversations with others. Make sure to register in advance.
