2026 Great Art for Great Reads—Art Show and Online Auction ...

Call to Artists

The Waldoboro Public Library is calling artists and crafters to submit their work for the sixth annual Great Art for Great Reads Art Show and Online Auction. More information and deadlines are provided on the Library’s website (http://www.waldoborolibrary.org/gafgr-2026.html ). The Art Show runs from August 17 to September 11 at the Waldoboro Public Library with an opening reception on August 28. Bidding for the Online Auction begins August 28 through September 11.

What a great way to support the Waldoboro Library and the local art community! Submission forms are due at the Library by August 1, but we encourage artists to get their forms in early. No late forms will be accepted this year. Last year we had over 80 works of art and a fantastic show. Check out our Great Art for Great Reads page for information and to see the variety of work from previous shows.

Come march with us! It'll be fun!
The theme for Waldoboro Day this year is 'Superheroes" and the library is inviting all kids (and grownups, too!) to dress as a superhero or character from a book or just be themselves and march with the library contingent in the parade. Carrying a book, especially one that goes with your costume is encouraged (but not required).
If interested, please call the library at 832-4484, email to [email protected] or just show up at the parade starting place on Mill St by 11:40. The parade starts at noon. Hope you'll join us! The more, the merrier!

Just a reminder that the last Music Together at MCMA gathering for the year will be Monday, June 15, at 10:30.

The program will be taking the summer off and will start again on September 21. Come get some dancing in before summer!
