Yesterday Boston MedFlight tested out Wareham’s new Landing Zone. This was a collaborated effort between Southcoast Health, Wareham Emergency Management, Wareham EMS Local 2895, Wareham Municipal Maintenance, and Wareham Police Department. Asst Chief Haskell and FF Harrigan both with aviation backgrounds sat as part of this group representing Wareham Fire to make this a reality. This is a back up landing zone for Tobey Hospital. This project shows the working relationships of the public safety agencies of Wareham have with each other.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the member of the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy Crib Support who suffered a serious injury after falling from the burning building. Some members of our department also work as instructors and crib support for the Academy and may from time to time worked along side this person. This shows another way that even in training there are risks in our profession.

This morning, a member of our Crib Support team was seriously injured after a fall at the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy's Stow campus. We are deeply grateful to all the staff who took immediate action to provide medical aid and notified 9-1-1, and to Stow and Sudbury first responders. We ask that you please spare a thought and a prayer for him, his family, and his brother and sister firefighters.
