Rolling into service. đźš”

The Warrensburg Police Department is proud to introduce our newest addition — the Can-Am Defender HD11 Max. Equipped with emergency lights, siren, and a police radio, this new unit will enhance our ability to serve the community at festivals and special events, search and rescue operations, area searches for wanted or missing persons, downtown patrols, emergency response situations, and in areas traditional patrol vehicles can’t easily access.

This new addition gives WPD another tool to better serve and protect our community, wherever the job takes us.

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

As we spend time with family and friends this Memorial Day, we remember those who gave everything for the freedoms we enjoy each day. 🇺🇸

“Click It or Ticket” isn’t just a campaign. It’s a reminder that seat belts save lives. Before you put the car in drive, make sure everyone is buckled up.

Every seat, every time.

Today, on Peace Officers Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the members of the Warrensburg Police Department who dedicated their lives to serving our community.

We especially remember our fallen officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty:

👮🏼‍♂️Marshal James Ryan — End of Watch: April 19, 1908
👮🏼‍♂️Officer James Basham — End of Watch: April 20, 1908

We also honor those who passed away while still serving our department and community:

👮🏻‍♂️Marshal Benjamin Brown — End of Watch: July 18, 1910
👮🏻‍♂️Assistant Night Marshal Edgar Shanks — End of Watch: January 5, 1939
👮🏻‍♂️Detective Sergeant Paul Loehr — End of Watch: October 15, 1984
👮🏻‍♀️Corporal Nancy Bell — End of Watch: May 10, 1998
👮🏻‍♂️Detective Benny Sheffield — End of Watch: October 31, 2014

Their dedication, sacrifice, and commitment to the people of Warrensburg will never be forgotten. Today, we remember not only the badges they wore, but the lives they lived, the families who loved them, and the lasting impact they left on this community.

Please join us in honoring their memory and all peace officers who have given their lives in service to others.
