Westbay Community Action

Westbay Community Action We provide many services to Kent County: childcare, WIC, home energy, emergency help, food pantry, Senior Services, GED, case management, and holiday programs.

We also have Westbay Farm. Visit us our website for more info! Westbay Community Action, Inc. is a charitable organization serving the people of Kent County. We help with food, utilities, health, safety, and education. Our mission is to empower and mobilize people through our programs, partnerships, and advocacy to gain greater self-sufficiency. Individuals and families gain stability through basi

c needs assistance. They improve their circumstances with education, life-skills training, and case management. We opened our doors in June 1966, one community organization in the national effort to fight poverty. We are still community-based and guided by our core purpose more than fifty years later. Today, we are the largest provider of basic needs in Kent County and assist nearly 10,000 households per year.

“Now, for the first time in years, I have freedom again.”

One of the many ways Community Action works is through programs that help people maintain safety, independence, and stability.

After struggling with serious balance issues and multiple falls, one local senior connected with Westbay’s case management program. Through those services, she received monthly food deliveries, ongoing support, and, eventually, an electric scooter that has helped restore both her mobility and confidence.

“The fear of falling is one of the worst things to live with,” she shared. “Having this scooter has taken away so much of that worry. It’s given me safety, independence, and a new sense of peace.”

A heartfelt thank you to Jack Archer for their generous donation of men’s button-down shirts.

Jack Archer creates clothing designed to help men look and feel their best with ease, and this donation is such a thoughtful extension of that idea.

This donation will support our mission of helping people move toward greater self-sufficiency with dignity and care.

Thank you for thinking of Westbay and the community we serve.
