The Washburn Public Library Board of the Washburn Public Library will be holding a regularly scheduled quarterly board meeting on 8/25/26 at 7PM in-person at the Washburn Public Library. At the time this notice is being prepared, the governing body expects the agenda to include the following topics:

Join the Washburn Public Library Tuesday, September 22, at 6 pm, for our next book club discussion & a potluck dinner. We will be discussing 'The Widow' by John Grisham. The event is open to anyone interested. Don't have time to join book club? We have extra copies of the book!

The Washburn Public Library wrapped up the 2026 Summer Reading Program. To all of our readers and support from our community-you are awesome! There were 57 participants that turned in 322 weekly reading logs (that's 644 hours of reading!!!) and 22 blackout bingo cards! 45 participants received a college SAVE certificate and the blackout bingo cards received a pass to Gateway to Science. 3 Washburn families participated in the 3rd annual McLean Mercer Regional Library crawl and our very own Rohan family was drawn for the $100 Barnes & Noble gift card this year! There were 6 Grand Prize winners drawn from the weekly slips that received Raging Rivers passes:

A special thanks to the McLean County Historical Society for providing the use of the Nettle Creek Schoolhouse for our weekly events and to the Park Board for moving picnic tables around for us as needed!

The Washburn Public Library invites you to "check out" the FREE Community Produce Shelf. Take produce, leave produce, or trade produce. The shelf is 24-hour accessible and located on the sidewalk in front of the library on Main Ave.

A HUGE thank you to the District 5 North Dakota CattleWomen for donating Vet Kids Cattle Club books to our library today! These books are agriculturally accurate, beef-related children's chapter books that reflect modern beef production and authentic ranch life and include visits to a North Dakota ranch! Look for them on our shelves soon!
