This , we're celebrating 10 years as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ

For the past decade, we've had the privilege of caring for nearly 2,800 uninsured and Medicaid/Medicare patients each year here in Washington, DC. But what matters most isn't the numberโ€”it's the people behind it.

It's the parent who can finally manage a chronic illness without worrying about the cost. It's the older adult staying healthy through routine screenings. Or the neighbor who walks through our doors for medical care and finds support with food, behavioral health services, legal advocacy, or other resources they need to move forward.

At Bread for the City, we know that health doesn't begin and end in an exam room. That's why our medical providers work alongside behavioral health clinicians, social workers, food assistance teams, and legal advocates to care for the whole person.

Community health centers like ours help millions of people across the country get the care they need, regardless of their ability to pay. We're proud to be part of that workโ€”and even more proud to do it alongside our neighbors here in DC.

To our patients, healthcare providers, staff, volunteers, and supporters: thank you for being part of the last 10 years. We look forward to continuing to provide compassionate, high-quality care for our community for years to come.

At Bread for the City, we know that good health starts with more than a doctor's visit. It means having enough food on the table, access to quality medical care, support when life gets hard, and a community that shows up for one another.

Thank you, DC Primary Care Association, for highlighting the work of community health centers across the District and the role they play in helping our neighbors live healthier lives. We're proud to be part of this workโ€”today and every day.

Good morning, and welcome to 2026! Our first spotlight goes to Bread for the City. They work tirelessly to provide nutrition and food support in addition to medical care to our neighbors. Learn more by visiting their website: https://breadforthecity.org/

๐Ÿ“ฃ Policy changes donโ€™t happen on their ownโ€”they happen when communities stand together and people are willing to share their stories.

This spring, participants in our CashRx program joined members of our Economic Security team to testify in support of the DC Child Tax Credit benefit and guaranteed income programs. They spoke about the difference these programs make in their everyday livesโ€”from helping families pay rent and keep food on the table ๐Ÿ  to providing the stability needed to plan for the future.

Their stories were honest, personal, and a powerful reminder that behind every policy or statistic are real people and real lives. ๐Ÿ’š

Alongside our advocacy partners, these collective efforts contributed to meaningful policy changes, including the reinstatement of the DC Child Tax Credit. ๐Ÿ™Œ

Watch their testimonies here:

The credit would lessen DC's child poverty rate and give power back to families.

Summer hunger doesn't take a breakโ€”and thanks to the generosity of Wegmans and its customers, more of our neighbors will have access to the food they need.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported the Fill the Bus/Fill the Backpack campaign at the Wisconsin Avenue Wegmans. Together, you raised $5,408 to support our food pantries. ๐Ÿ™Œ

We're grateful for partners and community members who continue to show up for our neighbors. We're proud to be part of a community that cares so deeply and makes a difference every day. ๐Ÿซถ

We are stronger together! ๐Ÿ’š

Customers of Wegmans Food Markets raised a record-breaking $769,300 during the companyโ€™s two-week food drive to support local food banksโ€™ increased summer needs.
