Happy Halloween Webster City!

Tonight is Trick or Treat night! Our officers have been visiting local schools to talk with students about Halloween safety. During those visits we handed out over 700 reflective treat bags and glow sticks to help kids stay safe and be seen!

Check out the flyer below for a few Halloween safety reminders for both trick-or-treaters and drivers.

Our officers will be out actively patrolling and staying visible throughout the evening. If you see them out and about, be sure to give them a wave!

Residential Trick or Treating runs from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM tonight. Have fun and stay safe!

A New Face In The D.A.R.E. Classroom

We are excited to share that Officer Holcombe has completed D.A.R.E. school and will be joining the Webster City Police Department’s D.A.R.E. program this school year!

D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) teaches students skills to help them make safe choices, resist peer pressure, and build healthy relationships. The program offers curriculum for different age groups helping students navigate challenges and make responsible decisions as they grow.

Investigator Thumma has been teaching D.A.R.E. to our 5th grade students, and Officer Holcombe’s addition brings another instructor to the program this school year.

We’re looking forward to another great year of D.A.R.E. in our schools!

The Webster City Police Department recently had the opportunity to host a K9 training day with K9 teams from several area agencies.

Officer Lehman and K9 Chad put in a lot of work helping organize and lead the training with teams working through tracking, building searches, traffic stops, and other real world scenarios. It was a great day of training and sharing experience with other handlers and agencies.

A big thank you to Hy-Vee for providing food, Karl Chevrolet for the vehicles, the Hamilton County Fair Webster City, Iowa for the use of their space, and Webster City Parks & Recreation for providing the park.

We appreciate everyone who helped make the training day possible, and we're proud of the work Officer Lehman and K9 Chad continue to put in.
