Lap Robes for Veterans

Lap Robes for Veterans SO MANY VETERANS... SEW LITTLE TIME Since our inception in 2007, we have had the privilege to providing over 15,000 Lap Robes to Veterans.

In the Greater Rochester, NY Community and surrounding counties, we provide lap robes for:
*Individual Veterans
*Veterans in nursing Homes, hospice and area hospitals such as Monroe Community Hospital
*Honor Flight Rochester
*Gold Star and Blue Star Mothers
*and much more! Despite COVID in 2020 we distributed over 1,000 Lap Robes. What started as a woman with a passion to thank our men and women

that have served so selflessly has now grown to many very dedicated sewers! This year when faced with closing down as our founder moved out of state two very talented and gifted volunteers stood up to continue on Lap Robes for Veterans. Every Lap Robe is made with Love for our Veterans.

The red poppy is a powerful symbol of remembrance, gratitude, and sacrifice, worn to honor military personnel who died in war. Inspired by WWI battlefields and the poem “In Flanders Fields,” it represents blood shed in conflict, serves as a fundraising emblem for veterans' needs, and pledges to never forget those who served.

Volunteer Kym was a guardian for our friend Deane for this Mission 94! How exciting! They arrived with a police es**rt thanks to Wayne County Sheriff’s Department by Officer K. Mitchell.
Pic of volunteer Kym, with Veteran Deane, and wife Linda!

Sue and Pat had the honor of presenting this Air Force quilt to Lt. Colonel ‘Angel’ Pilato! Amazing woman and bio! She served as the first and only woman out of 3.5 million Veterans serving in Southeast Asia to be assigned to manage an officers’ club.
