Yesterday afternoon, Durham Fire and our partners from the Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office, Freeport Fire Rescue, and Lisbon Emergency responded to a serious two car MVA at the intersection of Rabbit Road & Hallowell Road. Three patients were transported to area hospitals in stable conditions. The roadway was briefly shut down to allow for cleanup and removal of the vehicles.

This past weekend, Durham Fire was requested mutual aid to assist Freeport Fire Rescue with an approximately 1 acre, difficult-to-access wildland fire. Forestry 28 assisted with fire suppression efforts while Tanker 29 shuttled water. During this time, other members handled a medical call in town.

Today, Tanker 29 is back in Freeport assisting with ongoing efforts to suppress this deeply seated fire.

At approximately 10:26 this morning, Durham Fire & Rescue received a call for a residential structure fire on Auburn Pownal Road. The fire was extinguished within 20 minutes with no injuries reported. All occupants and pets had safely exited prior to arrival. We thank our mutual aid partners from Auburn Fire Department, Pownal Fire & Rescue, Freeport Fire Rescue, Lisbon Fire Department, New Gloucester Fire Rescue, Topsham Fire & Rescue, and Brunswick Maine Fire Department for their response. Investigators from the Maine State Fire Marshal's office deemed the cause as accidental in nature.
