🎃👻 Help keep Halloween safe for Maine’s trick-or-treaters!
The Maine State Federation of Firefighters encourages families to keep these reminders in mind:
🔦 Be seen! Carry flashlights and add reflective tape to costumes and treat bags.
🚸 Cross at crosswalks, look both ways, and never dart between parked cars.
👨👩👧👦 Have an adult accompany young children. Older children should travel in groups with a planned route and return time.
👟 Walk on sidewalks and choose costumes that won’t cause trips or block vision.
🍬 Wait until you’re home so an adult can check treats before eating.
🏠 Visit well-lit homes and never enter a stranger’s home or vehicle.
🚗 Drivers: Slow down, put distractions away, and watch carefully for children near roads and driveways.
