This week was Criminal Justice Week for our WLPD Explorer Cadets at Judge Kendrick J. Guidry's court. On Monday, the cadets saw several cases in person and on zoom. Judge Guidry sat our Explorers in the jury seats and answered all their questions. Afterwards, Chief Wilrye treated them to lunch at Golden Corral.
Wednesday was 2nd chances day, probation violations; and the Cadets got to observe a manslaughter sentencing.
Judge Guidry answered questions from cadets in the deliberation room. The Judge also stopped court to speak with them, as they were emotional.
Our cadets were later treated to lunch at Mr. Gatti's.
We extend a huge thank you to Judge Kendrick J. Guidry for spending time with our Explorers!!

The Westlake Police Department extends our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Tammy Vincent, RN.

Tammy’s life was a testament to compassion, service, and unwavering dedication to others. Through her leadership and vision, she brought together healthcare professionals, law enforcement, and advocates to ensure survivors of sexual assault received the care, dignity, and support they deserved. Her work strengthened our community and fostered partnerships that continue to make a lasting difference.

We are grateful for the opportunity to have worked alongside Tammy and witnessed her commitment to helping those in need. Her kindness, strength, and servant’s heart touched countless lives, and her legacy will continue through the many people she inspired.

As we honor Tammy’s memory, we ask our community to keep her husband Billy and her entire family in your thoughts and prayers. May they find comfort in knowing that her remarkable life and selfless service will never be forgotten.

Rest in peace, Tammy. Thank you for making our community a better place. Your legacy of compassion and service will live on.

The Westlake Police Department would like to extend our sincere thanks to Lila's Patrol Pals for their generous donation of stuffed animals for our patrol vehicles.

These comfort items will be carried by our officers and distributed to children during calls for service when a little extra reassurance may be needed. A simple stuffed animal can provide comfort during difficult or stressful situations, and this donation will help us better serve the children in our community.

Thank you, Lila’s Patrol Pals, for your kindness, support, and commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of children.
