Parents & Community Members,
A quick update on things happening around the district...

- Our technology department is about to start a major project. They're going to be replacing, adding, and moving access points in an effort to improve wi-fi access throughout the district. We hope to have this done by the time our second semester begins.

- So why is the scoreboard on at the stadium? As many of you know, we've been having a number of issues with it. The company working on it has requested that we leave it on all the time, which will allow them to remote in when needed. I don't know if there's much we can do about it. It's old technology and replacing it would cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. We're trying, but I don't know if we're going to have much success.

- Our volleyball girls are on a roll! Congratulations on the win last night, ladies! Outstanding! Their record is 21-10 overall, with a 9-3 record in district play. Tuesday night is a HUGE game for them. They'll be taking on Grandview here. If you can, come out and support them! We want to pack the gym!

- Remember, if you'd like to tour the intermediate school and discuss the bond with me, you can sign up to do just that. Please fill out the form. We'll contact you and get your tour scheduled.
Good luck to the boys tonight! They're in Palmer!

October is National Principals Month, where we take a few moments to thank our campus leadership for all their hard work. We are blessed at Whitney ISD to have five amazing people--Amber Seely, Amanda Martinez, Chad Adkins, Kendra Hensley, and Tina Meadors--who work tirelessly for both our kids and our teachers and staff. Being a principal is a tough job, and it's not for the faint of heart. Long hours, plenty of stress, a break-neck pace, and the reality that you'll make a few people mad each day is part of the job. However, these five do it incredibly well. We've seen a lot of improvement over the course of the past couple of years, and they're a big reason why. So for everyone, I'd like to say THANK YOU for all that you do!
