This 4th of July, America turns 250!

Check out the Texas State Library and Archives Commission’s year long Texas America 250 Reading Challenge at the following site: https://www.tsl.texas.gov/america250/challenge

The Texas America250 Reading Challenge is self-reported. Let your school or public librarian know when you have completed the challenge, and they can print out a certificate for you.

Come by R. F. Meador Library to pick up a log and help log those hours with our summer events and various programs. On Monday, July 13th at 10:00 and 11:00 am the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) will be presenting Life in Revolutionary America for ages 4-8.

Join us for an hour of free play with our Duplo blocks and large cardboard blocks. Kids can explore all the fun ways they build and explore with blocks.

This program is designed for children aged 0-4, and registration is required in advance. Registration opens one week before the program date. For more information, call the Children's Desk at 936-522-2754.

The computer lab is closed on Thursday, June 18th and the library will be closed on Friday, June 19th in observance of Juneteenth. With the recent renovations involving the computer lab and meeting room, it has effected the connections to our computers and we are working hard to fix it to better serve our patrons. We are so happy to announce the exciting news that Meador Library is undergoing a transformation designed to enhance the experience for all our visitors! Library space is being reconfigured to compliment patron use. This will give the community multiple places to study, work, read, interact, and collaborate. Comfortable seating with both quiet and interactive environments will provide expanded usability.

This transformation has become possible through multiple funding sources of almost $150,000 that was received by our Library. Thank you to the 𝗧𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, the 𝗦𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗣𝗰𝘁. 𝟭 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗲𝗿, and the 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗴𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 for making this dream a reality for us.❤️
