Two Williston-based businesses have been awarded funding through the North Dakota Department of Commerce’s Destination Development Grant program!
The grant program supports projects across the state that help create new and expanded tourism experiences while driving long-term economic growth.
This year’s cycle received 103 applications from 61 communities across North Dakota, and there were many great local applicants from Williston. That only speaks to the exciting things continuing to happen in our community and the strong future of tourism and development in Williston. Ultimately, two local businesses were selected from the competitive statewide application pool. 👏
🍷Dakota Sun Winery was awarded $75,000 to expand its existing winery with an outdoor patio, a multi-season event venue, and three grain bin glamping units designed to create memorable overnight stays. Plans also include partnerships with local beef producers, vineyard yoga, wellness programming, and collaborations with regional artisans and food trucks.
🏨 Great Northern Events was awarded $550,000 to support the final phase of its historic Main Street property renovation, transforming the underground portion into a unique lounge space and converting the adjacent wash bay building into boutique lodging suites.
