September is National Preparedness Month, an annual observance dedicated to promoting emergency preparedness and resilience in our homes, workplaces, and communities. This year's theme, "Americans Stand Ready," encourages individuals and organizations to take proactive steps to prepare for emergencies before they occur. [ready.gov]
Healthcare workers play a critical role in community resilience during emergencies and disasters. By taking simple steps to strengthen personal and family preparedness, we can help ensure a ready and resilient healthcare workforce capable of supporting our communities when they need us most.

Healthy habits start at home. Establishing daily routines can help children feel supported, confident, and ready to succeed. Encourage healthy habits by prioritizing a good night's rest, eating a nutritious breakfast, and making time for physical activity each day.
Just as important, create a positive home environment where children feel comfortable sharing their thoughts, concerns, and feelings. Open communication helps build trust, strengthens relationships, and supports emotional well-being.
Small, consistent habits can make a big difference for the whole family.

READY FOR BACK TO SCHOOL?

One of the best ways to support teen health and wellness is to ensure they are up to date with recommended vaccines. Vaccines protect against dangerous illnesses like meningitis, whooping cough, HPV, and flu. Adolescents are a valuable public health tool for protecting students, classmates, families, and the broader community – especially those who are more vulnerable.
