The Library also operates two Bookmobiles. The Wayne County Public Library consists of the Wooster Main library, two bookmobiles and six Branch libraries. Patrons of the Wayne County Public Library have additional user privileges at more than 40 libra

ries in Northeast Ohio through CLEVNET, a group of libraries linked by an automation system. Patrons may reserve materials at any of the CLEVNET member libraries in person or on-line. Need a new car? In 1913, Bob Taylor made sure Wooster residents had plenty to choose from.

To promote his Champion Garage, Taylor lined East Liberty Street with a fleet of Overland automobiles. The photo, taken looking west from Beall Avenue, captures the display in front of Taylor's garage and the McGaw Poultry & Egg Warehouse.

Overland automobiles, built in Toledo beginning in 1909, became one of the nation's most popular brands. Judging by this lineup, Taylor wasn't interested in subtle advertising.

🦥 The Sloth in Your Backyard

Did you know a giant Ice Age ground sloth was discovered just down the road near Millersburg in 1890?

Join us at the Shreve Branch for a fascinating look at Ohio’s glacial past! We’ll explore how glaciers formed, the Ice Age animals that once lived here, and the incredible story of this massive ground sloth.

The skeleton has been on display at OSU’s Orton Geological Museum since 1896—longer than any other mounted prehistoric skeleton in the country. At just over 13,000 years old, it’s also the most recent known member of its species.
