Friends In Deed's Furniture Program will be temporarily paused from June 25–July 13.

During this time, we will not be accepting furniture donations, scheduling pickups, or making deliveries.

If you are already on our waiting list, please continue checking in by phone or email every two weeks as usual. If you're awaiting a pickup or intake, you may still send furniture photos or requested documents to our email, and we'll respond as soon as the program reopens. ([email protected])

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we take this brief pause. We look forward to serving you again beginning July 14. đź’™

Many families in Washtenaw County are just one unexpected expense away from losing stability.

As the costs of housing, transportation, and utilities continue to rise, more working families are turning to Friends In Deed for support. That's why our mission of helping people in need and building community to end poverty is more important than ever.

Thank you to Lucy Ann Lance and the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti Regional Chamber for inviting our team to discuss the growing needs in our community and how Friends In Deed is responding through our Essential Services Program and Circles.

Leadership in Action, indeed! 💪🏽

We were honored to welcome the latest A2Y Chamber Leadership cohort for their recent Leadership in Action Day at Friends In Deed.

This incredible group rolled up their sleeves and jumped right into the work—helping us clear out our furniture warehouse, remove broken and unusable items, sort furniture for our Community Giveaway Day, and reorganize the space to maximize efficiency ahead of the busy University of Michigan move-out season.

Their efforts couldn't have come at a better time. With donations pouring in—including 12 sets of bunk beds and countless other household items—we needed to create room so these resources could quickly make their way to neighbors who need them.

Beyond the hard work, we were grateful for the opportunity to share our mission and the impact that furniture and household essentials can have for individuals and families building stability.

Thank you, A2Y Chamber Leadership cohort, for your energy, enthusiasm, and willingness to go all-in for our community. Your work will help us serve more neighbors and make every square foot of our warehouse work harder for the people who count on us.

🍽️ A glimpse of "Cooking with the Kids" at our most recent Circles Youth Program gathering!

Our young chefs rolled up their sleeves, learned new kitchen skills, worked together, and created something delicious along the way. More than just cooking, these moments help build confidence, encourage teamwork, and create lasting connections.

We're grateful for the opportunity to learn, laugh, and grow together—one recipe at a time. ❤️
