This week's Friday Face is Sgt. Rainer J. Wetzling III, an explosive ordnance disposal technician with Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron, MCAS Yuma.

A Maryland native, Wetzling has served in the Marine Corps for seven years and has been stationed at MCAS Yuma for the past two years. He was recently awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for his courageous response after witnessing a vehicle accident, providing immediate medical aid to injured individuals until additional help arrived.

"In a moment like that, if someone is seriously injured, time matters," said Wetzling. "I knew that as soon as it happened, I had to help in any way I could."

Meet the new commanding officer of Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Col. David J. Bennett.
With nearly three decades of Marine Corps service, Col. Bennett is excited to return to MCAS Yuma, having previously served here as a captain at MAWTS-1 early in his career.
"My family and I are incredibly proud to be back at MCAS Yuma. It's an honor to join this outstanding team, and I'm humbled by the opportunity to lead it. We're excited to give back to a community that has meant so much to us and to continue the strong partnership between the installation and Yuma."

This week’s Friday Face is Officer Preston Weiser, a patrol officer with the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Program, Marine Corps Air Station Yuma.

Weiser, a prior soldier, has worked at MCAS Yuma for more than 7 years and was recently awarded the Meritorious Conduct Award for his exemplary performance of duties while serving as a patrol officer on the installation.

The MCAS Yuma 2025 Annual Consumer Confidence Report is available to all military, families and contractor personnel who reside and work on MCAS Yuma. This report is for the annual Arizona Department of Environmental Quality to publish information about the drinking water produced and distributed by our Water Treatment Plant. A copy of this report is available on the MCAS Yuma Environmental Division website (https://www.mcasyuma.marines.mil/Environmental/). Copies of the 2025 Annual Consumer Confidence Report are also available at the Military Family Housing Office; Environmental Division Office; and Public Works Division Office.
