Samoa becomes a Full Member of the Pacific Inter-Parliamentary Assembly.
The Parliament of Samoa is participating in the inaugural General Assembly of the Pacific Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (P**A), held in Papeete, French Polynesia.
A significant milestone was achieved during the meeting when Samoa formally signed up to become a full member of P**A. This strengthens Samoa’s role within the regional parliamentary community and demonstrates its commitment to closer cooperation among Pacific parliaments.
The meeting brings together parliamentary delegations from across the Pacific to strengthen regional cooperation and parliamentary diplomacy. Discussions have focused on matters of shared importance, including climate change, women’s political participation, regional security, and cooperation between Pacific and European parliaments.
Becoming a full member of P**A is an important achievement for the Parliament of Samoa. It will provide greater opportunities to strengthen regional partnerships, exchange parliamentary knowledge and experience, and promote a united Pacific voice on regional and international issues.
