This week, EU Ambassador Kristian Schmidt visited the Nelson Mandela Foundation and the Apartheid Museum to pay his profound respect to the legacy of Nelson Mandela and all those who fought against apartheid, with courage, sacrifice and conviction. South Africa's transformation from repression to democracy remains astonishing and humbling, and continues to shape society and policy today.

With local government elections just over a month away, join the ISS, Embassy of Finland and the Delegation of the European Union to South Africa to take stock of the past 30 years and discuss how to strengthen democracy and accountability.

The EU Delegation to South Africa invites interested local companies to participate in the online webinar โ€œAccreditation & verification processes of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).โ€

โ€ข The webinar will provide CBAM verifiers and affected companies in South Africa with practical guidance on the CBAM accreditation and verification process.

โ€ข It will explain how companies can become accredited CBAM verifiers, the qualifications and application processes involved and the guidance currently available.

โ€ข The session will include Q&A segments and allow participants to raise questions directly with the speakers.
