🌍📈 New milestone for China–Africa Trade!
Bilateral trade volume hit RMB 1.41 trillion in H1 2026, hitting an all-time half-year high.

Fueled by China’s zero-tariff scheme, African goods imported to China totalled RMB 193.8 billion in May and June alone, rising 23.5% year on year.
Zambia stands to benefit greatly: boosting farming, lengthening mining industrial chains, growing local factories and supporting SMEs, so distinctive Zambian products can go global with ease. 🇿🇲🤝

Marking five years since the Global Development Initiative was unveiled, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi urged a strengthened global partnership for shared development, laying out four core propositions.

1. Strengthen solidarity and create a peaceful environment for development
2. Accelerate the implementation of the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda
3. Promote openness, mutual learning and innovation-driven development
4. Uphold multilateralism and improve global governance

These priorities are especially relevant to Zambia and other Global South countries seeking peace, innovation and inclusive development.

Ambassador Han Jing Visited the Smart Village Project in Central Province

On July 23, Ambassador Han Jing visited the Smart Village Project in Malende Village, Mumbwa District, Central Province.

After viewing a live remote-teaching session conducted via the Smart Education System at the local primary school, Ambassador Han toured the facilities built by Huawei, including a photovoltaic power station, a communication tower, and a smart clinic. He also chatted with students and villagers, and donated books and maize meal to the school and the clinic.

Ambassador Han noted that the Smart Village Project has lit up remote rural communities with reliable electricity and internet connectivity to remote rural areas, significantly improving the learning and living conditions of local students and residents. In the context of the new round of technological and industrial revolution, China will continue to support bilateral cooperation in the ICT sector to bringing more tangible benefits to local communities.
