President Hichilema Meets with Ambassador Han Jing

On 26 August 2026, President Hakainde Hichilema met with Ambassador Han Jing.

Ambassador Han conveyed President Xi Jinping’s warm congratulations and best wishes, and stressed that under the strategic guidance of the two Heads of State, the China-Zambia Comprehensive Strategic and Cooperative Partnership has continued to deepen. China attaches great importance to China-Zambia relations and stands ready to work with Zambia to implement the important consensus reached by the two Heads of State, advance the practical cooperation by building on the traditional friendship.

President Hichilema asked Ambassador Han to convey his cordial greetings and sincere thanks to President Xi. He said that the new Zambia Government looks forward to further strengthening practical cooperation with China, jointly advancing the revitalization of TAZARA for the benefit of the people of both countries.

🌍 The 7th Forum on China–Africa Media Cooperation opened in Beijing on 20 August, bringing together media professionals and representatives from across China and Africa. Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) was also invited to participate, helping bring a Zambian perspective to the discussions.

At the forum, participants adopted a joint declaration calling for deeper cooperation in news, content production, technology and professional exchanges. Key areas include co-producing programmes, translating and sharing quality content, exploring emerging formats such as short-form dramas, and strengthening cooperation on the application and governance of artificial intelligence.

ZNBC Today’s participation provides another valuable opportunity for Zambia to exchange experience, build professional connections and contribute to the evolving Africa–China media partnership. 🇿🇲🤝🇨🇳
