PSPF JOINS THE NATION IN COMMEMORATING FINANCIAL LITERACY WEEK 2026

The Public Service Pensions Fund (PSPF) has joined the nation in commemorating the 2026 Financial Literacy Week (FLW), being observed from 16 to 22 March 2026 under the theme “Smart Money Talks.”

Financial Literacy Week is an important national awareness initiative aimed at promoting knowledge and understanding of financial concepts that enable individuals to make informed and responsible financial decisions. The commemoration encourages open conversations about money management, saving, investing and long-term financial planning.

The theme, “Smart Money Talks,” emphasizes the importance of discussing financial matters openly and making prudent decisions that promote financial security and stability.

As a pension institution mandated to safeguard the retirement security of public service workers, PSPF recognizes the critical role that financial literacy plays in helping members prepare for a dignified and financially secure retirement. The Fund continues to encourage its members to actively engage with pension information and understand the importance of long-term savings.

During Financial Literacy Week, PSPF is taking the opportunity to raise awareness on the role of pensions in financial planning and the need for members to monitor their contributions, understand their pension benefits and make use of the Fund’s digital platforms to access information and services.

PSPF HOSTS MILTEZ OFFICERS

The Public Service Pensions Fund (PSPF) on Friday, 6th March 2026 hosted an entourage from the Military Training Establishment of Zambia (MILTEZ) during a familiarisation visit aimed at enhancing the officers’ understanding of the Fund’s operations, services and products available to members.

PSPF Director of Human Resource and Administration, Mr. Derick Lungu, welcomed the delegation on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Francis Pindani Nyirenda, and noted that the visit reflected the long-standing and productive relationship between PSPF and the Zambia Army.

During the visit, Mr. Lungu, the Director of Investments, Mrs. K***a Musonda Chola, and Manager Pension Administration Mr. Joseph Banda, made presentations to the officers highlighting the Fund’s products and services.

The presentations also emphasised the importance of planning for retirement early and encouraged officers to take advantage of the Home Ownership Scheme, a facility that provides pension-linked mortgages to PSPF members to help them secure decent housing and avoid old-age destitution.

The delegation was also introduced to PSPF’s digital service platforms designed to improve access to the Fund’s services. These include the PSPF Mobile App, the USSD platform *3434 #, the WhatsApp line +260 774 689 294, and the e-PSPF portal. Officers were informed that applications for Microfinance Loans can now conveniently be made online through the PSPF website: www.pspf.org.zm.

The visit concluded with a guided tour of various departments and units of the Fund to provide the officers with a practical appreciation of how their pension scheme operates.
