The Permanent Mission of Lebanon in Vienna, in its capacity as Co-Chair of the UNODC Group of Friends on Gender together with Spain, represented by H.E. Ambassador María Sebastián de Erice, co-hosted an Ambassadorial Breakfast on "From Non-Consensual Sharing of Intimate Images to Broader Criminal Justice Responses to Technology-Facilitated Violence Against Women", attended by Dr. Monica Juma, Executive Director of UNODC - United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and Director-General of United Nations Vienna, Ambassadors, representatives, UNODC senior officials and experts.
H.E. Ambassador Cynthia Chidiac delivered opening remarks and participated in the interactive dialogue, highlighting the importance of strengthening victim-centered criminal justice responses, digital evidence capacities, international cooperation, and practical support to Member States in addressing technology-facilitated violence against women.
The event provided an opportunity to exchange views on emerging challenges, including the impact of digital technologies and artificial intelligence, and to identify concrete avenues for enhanced cooperation and technical assistance.
