Pigeon House Mountain

On Tuesday 1 September, 40 Year 9 and 10 Outdoor Education students took on the challenge of climbing Pigeon House Mountain! It certainly wasn’t an easy hike, but our students showed incredible determination, resilience and perseverance, with many pushing themselves well outside their comfort zones.
Reaching the summit was a fantastic achievement and something the students should be very proud of. There were plenty of challenges, laughs and memorable moments along the way, it was definitely an adventure!
Well done to all our students for giving it their best and supporting each other throughout the journey!

Rewarding positive attendance.

At the end of Term 2 School Assembly, names of students with 95% or more attendance went into a draw to win a lunch for themselves and 3 friends. The winners were granted permission to take over the library space to enjoy a free Pizza lunch.

Celebrating VET Excellence at BBHS!

A massive congratulations to our students who yesterday received VET Excellence Awards presented by Workplace Learning at Moruya Golf Club! Over the last two years, these students have worked extremely hard in their Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses, and their dedication has truly paid off.

🏆 SPECIAL SHOUTOUT to BJ, who was awarded the prestigious 2026 VET student of the year across all schools in our region! BJ was recognised for his outstanding commitment and innovation whilst completing his Certificate II Construction. We are so proud of all of our students that were nominated and huge thank you to our host employers for the work placement opportunities 👏

Hands on Learning

Over the past 18 months the students in Hands on Learning have built 6 x picnic tables and 6 x bench seats, that have been placed around the school in convenient locations. The project was funded by Fires to Flourish and involved students working together to plan, measure, cut, sand, lacquer, and install the benches and tables. This has provided students with great opportunities to learn hands on life skills, including communication and teamwork.

Free and Frequent Draw

Congratulations to Gypsy, Tyson, Harry, Dash and Wyatt, who had their red slips drawn out of the "Free and Frequents" barrel this week. Every fortnight the Positive Behaviour for Learning Team at Batemans Bay High School recognises students who have demonstrated the Bay Way with a chance to win one of five $10 canteen vouchers.
The Bay Way is our school's set of values, and are characterised by being Respectful, Responsible, and Safe. Positive behaviours around the school are recognised by staff with red "Free and Frequent" slips, and verbal reinforcement to encourage appropriate behaviours.
Students are reminded to keep getting those red slips in the barrel before the major prize draw at the end of the term!

Book Week

Thank you to everyone involved in the SRC's Book Week Fundraiser. It was a fun week of book themed events, the favorite being the Book Day Dress Up and Best Dressed Competition.
