Our first nation wide alert system.

🚨‼️Australia's new emergency warning system, AusAlert, will conduct an Australian wide emergency critical alert test on Monday 27 July 2026 to every compatible mobile devices, tablets, and smartwatches across the country will vibrate, display a test message, and play a loud siren-like sound for about 10 seconds. The test will trigger simultaneously across the country, but the exact local time depends on your location.

This test alert will be sent to everyone! You can’t opt out of receiving a Critical Alert and it will make this sound even if your device is set to ‘silent’ or ‘do not disturb’.

It is just a test. But in an actual disaster, an AusAlert will tell you the type of emergency, where it’s located, how serious it is and what to do. It will also tell you the name of the emergency organisation that has sent the AusAlert and where to find more information about the emergency.

The only way to not receive a Critical Alert is to turn your mobile device off or switch it to ‘aeroplane mode’ for the duration of the test.
If receiving an AusAlert test message will disrupt you or cause you or a family member to feel unsafe, turn off your mobile devices or switch them to aeroplane mode before the scheduled test time in your location and leave them off for at least half an hour.

The test will go out at the same moment across the country, the local time varies by state:

South Australia (SA) & Northern Territory (NT): 1:30 pm

NSW, ACT, Victoria, Queensland, & Tasmania: 2:00pm AEST

Western Australia (WA): 12:00 pm AWST

How to Prepare? Do nothing: You don't need to respond; the message will identify itself as a test.

Friday night is Stuart Group major training exercise night. There'll be lots of lights and action on Main Road from about 730pm.
Over the last few weeks we have been practicing and fine tuning our responsibilities during large events and now we get to put that into practice. During any incident we provide the radio Comms, arrange any extra resources needed to help the guys facing the incident, document everything that happens and liaise with Region 1 and management teams in real time.
Sometimes we are by the side of our Group Officers and we also get to stay warm at the Base.

🥳🎉Party Smoke Alert 🚨 ‼️
Tomorrow night for training, from approx 7:30PM, we will be training at a site on main road Blackwood!!
You may notice party smoke (which looks similar to real smoke) drifting from the building from 7:30pm.

The purpose of the training is to familiarise us with urban structure fires and allows BA Breathing Apperatus operators to nagivate through a smoke filled building. It also allows us to train with adjoining brigades! This will be a group excersice and have fire appliances from every brigade in our group and our neighbours at Upper Sturt CFScoming to the party aswell.

We have also done training nights over the past couple of weeks to for our senior fire fighters, captains and lieutenants to familiarise our selfs with incident control training for large urban incidents. We can’t wait to bring it all together tomorrow night!

SA Severe Weather Warning: Damaging Winds

For people in Adelaide Metropolitan, Mount Lofty Ranges, West Coast, Lower Eyre Peninsula, Eastern Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula, Flinders, Mid North, Kangaroo Island, Upper South East, Lower South East and parts of Murraylands, North West Pastoral, North East Pastoral and Riverland districts.

Issued at 10:16 am Sunday, 31 May 2026.

Damaging winds to affect South Australia from Monday morning.

Weather Situation: A strong cold front will sweep across the state during Monday bringing isolated damaging wind gusts to much of the state. A deep low pressure system will follow later on Monday bringing a broader damaging wind risk over western parts of the state, extending eastwards to the Adelaide region, central, and southeastern parts during Monday evening as the low passes to the south of Adelaide overnight.

DAMAGING WINDS GUSTS to 90 km/h are possible across western and central parts of the state from late Monday morning, affecting Adelaide and the Mt Lofty Ranges from the early afternoon.

DAMAGING WINDS averaging 60 to 70 km/h with gusts to 100 km/h become likely about the West Coast, Eyre Peninsula and Yorke Peninsula during Monday afternoon, extending to the remainder of the warning area, including Adelaide and the southeast, during Monday evening.

DAMAGING WINDS are expected to ease over coastal and low lying areas, including Adelaide, during Tuesday morning, and then gradually ease over the Flinders Ranges and Mt Lofty Ranges during Tuesday afternoon and evening.

Locations which may be affected include Adelaide, Port Lincoln, Strathalbyn, Maitland, Whyalla, Mount Gambier, Ceduna and Port Augusta.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.

Today we celebrate all the amazing mums in our brigade community. The mums on the trucks, behind the radios and support roles. But not forgetting the mums supporting from home, holding families together while others respond, and cheering us on every step of the way. We see you all and we appreciate all you do.

Thank you for the care, strength and support you give not only to your families, but to our brigades, and community as well.

International Firefighters’ Day is a time to honour those we have lost, recognise the courage of those who serve today, and inspire those who will serve in the future.

Hazmat incident at Coromandel Valley - 24 April 2026: Three trucks carrying approximately 15 firefighters responded to Triple Zero to attend a hazardous materials (hazmat) incident at Coromandel Valley in the south-eastern suburbs of Adelaide at 3:05 PM today.

The incident, which was attended by two specialised CFS hazmat trucks, resulted from a gardener mixing chlorine paste and dry acid to poison a tree stump.

The gardener inhaled fumes from the chemical reaction and required treatment from the SA Ambulance Service.

The spill area was isolated and has now been made safe by CFS volunteers, who have been on scene for approximately 90 minutes.

There was no risk to other people or the environment.

Always follow instructions for proper usage and make sure you’re in a well-ventilated area before mixing household chemicals.
