Yesterday our principal, Mr.McCall, attended Parliament House in Canberra to celebrate National Public Education Day. As part of the celebrations a new documentary series, Class Acts, premiered. A former Montello student, Justin Heazlewood, features in the documentary celebrating inspiring individuals and the public school teachers who made a difference in their lives. An extended promo of the series can be found by clicking the link in the comments. The Prime Minister attended the event and spoke about the important role public education plays to help young Australians achieve their dreams. In episode 8, Justin pays tribute to the wonderful teachers who helped make a positive influence to his life and the important role being part of the Montello Primary School community played in his childhood.

Exciting STEM learning in action! πŸš—πŸ’š

Yesterday our first group of students headed up to Parklands High School to work with Mr Edwards and some former Montello Primary School students as they began their Greenpower Goblin car journey.

Students were able to see the finished product, explore how the cars are built and then begin creating their very own car from the ground up. What a fantastic hands-on opportunity to problem solve, collaborate and develop real-world STEM skills.

A huge thank you to Parklands High School and Mr Edwards for welcoming us and allowing our students to be part of this exciting STEM initiative! We can’t wait to see the car come together. πŸ‘πŸ”§πŸŽοΈ

On Friday 22nd May we participated in Walk Safely to School Day. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our students and families that joined in. And a big thank you to our two local Police Officers that joined the walkers from Montello Soccer Grounds. Many toasties were enjoyed upon arrival to school.
