Hi everyone!
I thought it was about time I properly introduced myself... I’m Becky, the new lessee of the Charters Towers Swimming Pool! I’m a born & raised local, mother of 2 and the person behind Towers Swim ‘n’ Splash.
I am incredibly excited for this next chapter. I feel very fortunate to be taking on the pool that I’ve worked at for the last 4 years and in the town that I’ve called home for so many more.
While there will be some changes, like the name and the logo, some things will stay the same, you will still see the familiar faces around that you have all gotten to know over the last few years and I am so lucky to continue working alongside a team of qualified lifeguards and swim instructors to keep providing a safe and enjoyable aquatic environment for everyone.
There is a lot happening behind the scenes at the moment, including getting ready to kick off our learn to swim lessons which will commence in term 4. Thank you to everyone that has already supported and encouraged me on this journey. I’m so excited for what’s ahead and can’t wait to share it with you all.

☀️ SUMMER HOURS ARE COMING!

The Kennedy Regiment Memorial Pool will switch to summer operating hours from 1 September through to 31 March (inclusive), giving you more time to swim, train, cool off and enjoy the water! 💦

✅ Monday - Thursday: 5:30am - 7:00pm
✅ Friday: 5:30am - 6:00pm
✅ Saturday: 7:00am - 5:00pm
✅ Sunday: 9:00am - 4:00pm
✅ Charters Towers Public Holidays: 10:00am - 4:00pm

Whether you're an early bird chasing those sunrise laps, keeping active with the family, or looking for the perfect way to beat the North Queensland heat, we've got you covered all summer long!

GOOD NEWS! THE 25M HEATED POOL REOPENS TOMORROW

Council is pleased to advise that the mechanical issue affecting the 25 metre heated pool has been resolved, and the pool will reopen tomorrow, with normal operations resuming from 5:30am.

The pool heater is currently maintaining the required temperature, allowing the facility to safely reopen for patrons. While the immediate issue has been addressed, a replacement will be ordered as soon as possible to provide a permanent solution and ensure the ongoing reliability of the system.

We understand the recent delay was disappointing and thank our community for your patience and understanding while our team worked to rectify the issue.

Community Update – 25m Heated Pool

Council wishes to advise that the 25 metre heated pool will not reopen this Friday as previously announced. During final preparations, an unexpected mechanical issue was identified that requires further investigation and may involve sourcing specialised parts.

The issue has affected the pool’s ability to reach the planned temperature within the expected timeframe. To ensure the pool is at a comfortable temperature for patrons before reopening, Council has made the decision to delay the reopening.

We understand this is disappointing, especially following our earlier update, and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience. Our team is working carefully to assess the problem and determine the safest and most effective repair pathway.

We will keep the community informed as soon as more information becomes available. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.

We’re pleased to announce that the planned maintenance works on the 25 metre heated pool have been completed.

The pool will reopen on Friday, 21 August 2026, as scheduled!

Thank you to our community for your patience and understanding while the works were underway.

We look forward to seeing you back in the pool!

ATTENTION PATRONS - 50M POOL & TODDLER POOL will reopen TOMORROW (Saturday 1st August) at 7am 🩵🏊‍♀️🙌

** UPDATE Thursday, 9 July - As pump repairs continue, the 50m Pool will remain closed until further notice **

🏊 KRMP 50 METRE POOL CLOSURE EXTENDED

Please be advised that the 50m pool at the Kennedy Regiment Memorial Pool Complex will remain closed until Friday, 10 July while repairs are carried out to the pool pumps.

The 25m heated pool remains open and operating as normal, and patrons are welcome to continue using this facility during the closure.

We apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding while these essential repairs are completed.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back to the 50m pool on Friday, 10 July.
